I was going to set myself up this great system, but after playing around with Vista, I can't commit to it. I used Vista on another system and I really prefer the comfortable world of XP.
1 Brand New in box Gateway P-6831FX bought about 4 weeks ago (I had great willpower to not open it)
Decided to keep orange box and extra hard drive that I was offering for more money earlier.
Quick Specs on P-6831FX:
T5250 CPU (most people upgrade this easily to a T8000 or T9000 series)
3GB RAM
250 GB Hard drive (with slot for additional)
8800GTS (look at forum for 35Mark06 and game performance!)
17" WXGA+ Screen (looks good at best Buy)
Normal assortment of tother sepcs, look at best buy's site)
The price is set so that all I do is recover most of my costs ( I will end up losing a little due to the cost of selling though)
Breakdown of what I paid:
Laptop $1249 + 8.9% WA state tax = 1360.16
I'm willing to sell shipped at $1300 (I'll eat paypal, shipping and alot of the tax)
In WA state, the total is $1470 at Best Buy including tax. That said, the price is firm! I will not ship outside US at this time, but feel free to let me know any interest in case I change my mind. Pay via paypal, local pickup with cash in Seattle is good too.
