Keyboard issue, too

I'm wondering just how the KB connects to the mobo on an m7700. When I was taking it apart one of the multiple times I had to, the KB wouldn't come off of the mobo. While working it loose, the little off-white connector that holds the KB ribbon to the board broke. I managed to get all of the pins back where the belonged in the connector, but now my shift keys won't work. Does the little white-ish bar just hold the ribbon to the mobo, or does it actually have connectors itself?

I believe it just holds it in place.

Tridge is right; its a friction connector. You push the piece towards the ribbon and it holds it in place. No connectors.

I saw your other thread; looks like your motherboard is headed south and fast. Good luck.
