FS: Alienware m15x Laptop

**********SOLD**********

Hey all,

This is a longshot I know, but I just got my m15x and would like to sell it. It's a fabulous machine, but I've just decided I'd rather get a Macbook Pro. Unlike those few on eBay that are almost definitely scams, this one is not. I have a feedback rating of nearly 600 on eBay with no negatives under squaresound, and 75+ on heatware with no negatives. Feel free to send me an email using the address on file with either eBay or heatware to verify my identity. You'll see I have a lot of high-dollar transactions on heatware as well that went very smoothly. I also have a verified premier business account at PayPal with around 570 transactions.

As you all probably know, the warranty is not transferable, but hopefully based on the feedback I've presented you, you'll feel confident that I won't leave you hanging if something is to go wrong during the warranty period. I'm fairly new to these forums, but I've been a member of the "other" notebook forum for a few years and have developed a good reputation. I'll be there to assist you with warranty issues if needed.

Anyway, on to the specs:

ntel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz (Penryn, 6MB Cache 800MHz FSB)
15.4" WideUXGA 1920 x 1200 LCD (1200p)
Alienware® AlienFX® System Lighting
512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800M GTX
2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 1024MB
Windows Vista® Home Premium
200GB 7200RPM (16MB Cache)
8x Dual Layer Burner (DVD±RW, CD-RW)
Internal Intel® Wireless 4965 a/b/g/Draft-N Mini-Card
AlienFX® Illuminated Keyboard
AlienRespawn v2.0 Recovery DVD – Windows Vista® Edition
HDMI to DVI-D Adapter
Additional AC Adapter – 120 Watt Auto-switch AC Adapter
One Year Warranty

Final cost was 3322.83 after tax and shipping. I've only had it since since February 28th. I used it for about three hours over the next couple of days, then ran the Alien Respawn recovery DVD and packed it up for shipping. When you boot it up, it will be as if you're getting a new machine. Obviously, I can't afford to take a huge hit on it, but could probably do $2800 shipped (firm). This will save you over $500 and a month of wait time. The machine is in mint condition and the only issue I had is with the touch buttons. They all work, but you sometimes have to touch them multiple times to get them to activate. I'm told by Alienware that this is a known issue that they're working on. They say it should be fixed in a newer driver revision.

I'm sure I'll be asked about the other issues that others are reporting with M15x notebooks. Like I said, I used it very little, and it's been packed in the original box in preparation for shipment for most of the time I've had it. I did not experience any problems with cracking or overheating, but I didn't overly tax the machine. I did run 3DMark06 several times with no issues though.

Please send any offers or questions via PM so I can answer them as quickly as possible. If you have issues with the price, I would appreciate it if you could send me a PM instead of posting in the thread. I take PayPal and will ship only within the United States to PayPal confirmed addresses. I'll also accept USPS Postal Money orders and will offer a discount if you can pay this way. The only thing I might be looking for in trade is a Macbook Pro + cash. Thanks for looking.

Already for sale?!?!!
Why don't you return it back to Alienware?
Is the nameplate engraved?

Yes, it's engraved with my name. The nameplate is very small though and easily removed. Returning it to Alienware would be a 15% restock fee, and I'm hoping to take less than a 15% hit on it.

azncbr, yes, we did make that trade a while ago. It's funny how things sometimes go full-circle. I'm probably going to end up getting another Macbook Pro.

I know it's a much more powerful machine than the Mac. I'd just like the Mac for the other things it offers.

I put the laptop on eBay. I think it's against the rules to post the link, but it's not hard to find.

Sorry, just haven't had time. It showed up two weeks ago yesterday, and the next day, I had to fly out to Chicago to conduct an interview. I used it a few days after that for office tasks and trying to edit my video, and just decided I'd rather have a Mac for video editing. Basically, I'm fed up with trying to edit video on PC software. It seems like all the software available is really buggy -- especially in Vista. I ran the recovery CD, boxed it back up, and haven't touched it since. I didn't even play a game on it, didn't want to tempt myself . I'll definitely miss the gaming power, but it's a trade-off I'll have to take.

Awesome system. Surprised that no one has taken it yet...

Has alienware relaxed its policy on 2nd owner warranty claims or transfers to? I know you all had talked about it a little bit. I have an employee (marketing/graphics design) who is very interested in the 15x. since its not as big as the 17s and has the 8800 series card. What would be even better for this employee would be the 15x with the fx3600m which is based on the g92. arrrgh. please have better warranties aw as this exec definitely would NOT be happy without their laptop.

The 2nd owner is not overed with warranty, ut the 2nd owner can go through the 1st owner for help

Too bad you aren't looking for a tablet. Free bump.

Unfortunately it seems the NBF for sale forums have slowed down quite a bit, especially when it comes to higher end items like your sweet lappie. Might just have to bite the bullet and the fees and just list it up on fleabay .

Anyways, bump for a sweet notebook!

If I had not recently purchased a new 14" T61P ThinkPad with a T9300 and 8700GT graphics, I would be all over this!
