Express card slot remote controls

Are these any good? I know some use IR, some use RF and some use blue tooth.

Anyone have good/bad experiences? Do you know if they work on computers other than the ones they came with (assuming you have an IR port, RF receiver or blue tooth)?

Sorry I don't have an answer, I was looking for info as well. If I do pull the trigger on the one I am looking at I will come back and let you know how it works. I'm not a huge fan of bluetooth from past experience but it will be a bluetooth express card style remote on a Dell 1730.

Do you have a link for it?

I have been looking at an intervideo one that seems to have decent reviews, except it sticks out of the express card slot.

Well it's just the one you can get through Dell during choosing system options. There are no pictures or brand names there, but it may be the same as the one I found in the Dell store (Interlink Electronics).

I say "maybe" because it costs $59 in my cart but direct from the store it is $42.49. Now sure why they would charge more when you buy a system with it.

Reviews look fairly good, the main complaint being that it sticks out a little, which I don't think would bother me at all.

*Edit* Read you post again and I bet we're talking about the same one. I could see how it would be annying to some for it to stick out, but really you shouldn't ever leave something installed charging all the time or eventually the battery will fail anyway. Same reason I occasionally discharge my laptop battery and over long periods of time I will either unplug it or remove it altogether. I only see using mine when watching a blu-ray movie anyway, and since I don't own any that would be rarely :P

Yeah, it's the same one. They have it on Amazon.com for like $40, that's where I read the reviews.

So if you get it, please let me know how it works out!
