Howdy there,
Got a VGN-FS660 in my shop with what appears to be a fried keyboard. I replaced it with a stock keyboard and it still fails to respond to keystroke. Even tried plugging in an external USB keyboard with no joy.
To the point: There are clear indications that the laptop owner attempted a self repair, and I noticed a very prominent dipswtich just to the left of the keyboard's ribbon cable connector. It is a 4 switch on/off dipswitch with a numerical labeling of "54"
Given how easy it is to access, its proximity to the keyboard input slot, and the fact that the customer has clearly been screwing around inside it, I'm wondering if it might have some bearing on the problem.
Does anyone know what this switch does, or at least where I can find some documentation on it? Nothing on in the Vaio user manual, nor on sony's support site. Google tells me little.
Thanks in advance
