Keeping fingers crossed

My EX7 is on the Fed-X truck to be delivered to Hypersonic this afternoon for repairs, I really pray they can resolve the heat and cpu issues so I can play all my war games on it. If Hypersonic had not been sold and moved out of New York with new employee's I would have never sent it back because of the horror stories I have read here about how long it took to get it back but more important was the many people who said it came back in worse shape then it left.

I will give the new owners and the tech who is in charge of my case a thumbs up so far, they sent me the shipping box due to I threw out the box my computer came in and they also used fed-x's overnight to return the laptop to them, so I sent it off yesterday morning and they will get it by 3pm today.....cant wait to get it back and try nit out....I sort of feel like I originaly felt when I ordered it and then disapointed when it wouldnt boot into the os...had to format and re-install..then within 2 days a stick of memory died...they did overnight me a new stick...but the performance was never there... .....It worked great for a basic laptop but for games...not worth a crap......

I belive that maybe the 3.8gig cpu may have been just a bit more than the laptop could handle ...I recall Sager removing the 3.8 cpu option from their configurations....then I saw Alienware follow the same.......

Hopefully these new guys that bought Hypersonic can work some magic and turn my ex7 into the machine it was advertised on their site to be . If the guys at OCZ are better techs and take pride in their work....I do know that talking with them now is a 1005 Better than talking with the techs in New York when they were under differant management...so if this also transfers into their work and knowledge skills I am sure I will be pleased with my EX7 when I get it back....I am not in no hurry to get it back although I hope it dont take to long but the laptop has less than 30 hrs on it since I bought so I didnt use it that much...it was maily bought for trips and vacation so I could play my games while in the Hotel....So for me I would rather have them check it out real good and get it up to the performance a machine with my specs ahould have and if that takes a little longer than most repair jobs...so be it...as long as it comes back as a gaming laptop and not just a internet machine.. ....

Will keep yall posted on the progress.....be sweet if they cant fix it and offer me one of the new EQ7's configured with options that would be the same price I paid for the EX7 which was a little over 4 grand (about $ 4,200) give or take $75 bucks ) after I ordered a second optical drive ( DVD player/ CD Burner) to go with the Dual Layer DVD burner that I had orginaly configured...that way I could burn exact copies of any CD or DVD I had without having to copy it to the hard drive and then burn it to a disk....I use Recod Now Deluxe as my burning software and it does a great job plus unlike the software that came with the EX7 and the add on drive....you dont have a lot of junk to go along with the burning software....Record Now just comes with a very good burning software and no music players ...photo editers...ect ect...

Well thats all I can say for now...keeping my fingers crossed that OCZ does what ever it takes to to remedy the problems with my laptop...even if thats means replacing the thing..

Which Intel series are you talking about? (6xxx or 5xxx?) Intel corrected a lot of the prescott issues in 6 series cpus. I've got an Intel 660 3.6ghz cpu in my EX7, and it runs ice cold. Only te gpu gets really hot. I can't see a 670 breaking the optimal thermal envelope of the D900 chassis.

I hear ya man. Currently my FX-7 is in the shop due to a bad ethernet card (I think). Here is what I have been through so far...

Called about the problem on Sunday, the 2nd, and had good dialog/problem solving with the one and only customer service rep working at the time. Since it was the weekend I was told that I would be receiving an email on Monday the 2nd with my shipping info to send it in.

No email received on Monday...

Called them Tuesday... Oops they forgot. No biggie. Got the email while I was on the phone and shipped it out on Wednesday right down the road to Carlsbad. For some reason I couldn't just bring it in, I had to ship it.

I called Friday asking for an update. They said the tech was busy and that they would call back in 10-15 minutes. Didn't hear from them the rest of the day.

Called this morning, Monday the 10th, and they said they needed some info from me before they could proceed. I am left wondering why I had to call them for them to tell me they needed info from me. That irked me a bit.

So now I am told to call back this afternoon to check on further updates if I would like.

So far the customer service gets a big thumbs down for absentmindedness, but at least they are polite about it!

Its the 6 series.......what I did was reformat it first..get all the windows updates..load my security software and Medal Of Honor Airborn, downloaded the Mobo Monitor program from Hypersonics site....had it running in the graph mode and up on the screen...played my game for about 5 minutes.......then got out of the game and took a screen shot of the desktop with Mobo Monitor running..saved it as a gif...then loaded it as a background image...that way when they turn it on they can see what the temps and cpu are doing when playing a game...the cpu keeps spiking down to the low 2gigs from 3.8 while the temps will spike up to around 80c..wich is the max so the chart clearly shows this with the cpu and the the temp chart flatlines at about 80 due to it being as high as the laptop will allow it.......thats probaly why the cpu drops so low...the temp cools abit and the cpu spike up only to just drop again........plus I left a few notes on the desktop for the techs...it not only does this while gaming but while running a full system virus scan although not as bad as while gaming..its eith a heat issue causing the cpu to drop or cpu issues causing the temps to rise....or mayube the mobo is just shot..either way as long as they fix or replace it thats cool with me....

Please, try to post something useful not just copy paste your post on every other post. You are not tellin your experience or any good advise, just showing that yuo are mad at them, but that is not helpful.

I know that I'm going to buy a Quad laptop and there is only one model to choose from, I'm just trying to figure it out which company deserves my money... support it all what it matters here.

I've been trying to contact Hypersonic to write a review for their new Quad CPUed notebooks. Maybe my e-mails are getting overlooked? Maybe Pat can help me out. I'm reviewing the Alienware quad and the Sager quad next week and the week after respectively. I'd love to put the Hypersonic next to these models and compare differences and performance.

That'd be most helpful (and my pleasure).
