M1530 ordered - Page 3

Got it today with an LG screen. Much better. However.....

I know it's anal but.. my laptop had finger prints on it and the metal bezel that covers the speakers is slightly bent.

IMO, Dells build quality is simply horrible. My work bought this machine for me, so I am going to make the best of it now but when it comes time to buy a personal machine - based on this experience - I will NOT buy a Dell.

Just got it today and it looks beautiful. I've spent a whole ten minutes with the system. I will let you know if I run into any issues.

After reading this whole thread, I hope my 1530 arrives with a good screen. I got the "upgraded" screen, 4GB RAM, and the T9300 processor. Here's a silly question though. Do the XPS laptops come with the OS on a CD/DVD? I got a XPS600 a couple years ago and it came with the OS on a disc all by itself. I'd really like to start with a clean install and no bloatware.

I ordered the $1499 setup with 2.0ghz cpu and 4gb ram they had for the 1530 on 3/30, then 3 days later the exact same computer came with the T8300(2.4ghz) cpu, i called and canceled right away and reordered.

Anyone that orders a XPS laptop, you may already know this, but if you ask them to call you to complete the order, they can give you overnight shipping for free.
