NP5792 and Battlefield 2142

Can't get BF2142 working right on the WUXGA screen. I've tried the Video.con edit to put it in 61hz and that lets me open the game and play if I don't touch the graphics settings. But when I go set it to full 1600x1200 (or even just leave the res at 800x600) it won't load a map. It will load the menu (even with the shortcut widescreen mod. But won't load a map unless you leave all graphics settings alone.
Anyone know how to get it running in full with 1600x1200 or 1920x1200 via shortcut mod?

I think the problem is, when I start it in standard mode (going and deleting the Battlefield 2142 folder in My Documents) it creates a profile and then if you change the settings it changes it in that new profile. And for some reason editing the video.con file in the 0001 profile in MY Docs doesn't do the same as the default profile in the games folder.

BTW this is on Vista 64.

Gonna take a wild guess and say it's a Vista issue. There are a lot of reports that this game doesn't run well on Vista.

From experience with Vista, COD4 and STALKER run fine. You may see this issue with COD4, but it can be easily fixed. You may also see some programs not open when clicked on, however if you run them by right clicking on the icons and "Run As Administrator" it will work fine.

COD4 runs great, full settings and only drops below 30 frames every so often in multiplayer, a little more in single and was quite playable.

BF2 runs fine at full. No mic boost (its grayed out?)

BF2142 does not work due to something about the screen being 59hz (all other games and windows seems to think its a 60 hz screen but BF2142 won't work unless you plug in a a external 60 or 75hz screen and make it primary.

Vista 64 is a little in compatible. But software makers are getting up to speed now, and SP1 is out I think? I should download it.

XP = no DX10
My only reason for putting up with vista

This really annoys me. I have my account as the administrator, and it still won't let me into some folders and I still have to "Run as Administrator". There is a option in icons to always run as admin, so it isn't that bad. Just Stupid.

Yup. Its really annoying. No idea why it does that. But its happened to me on three different computers with Vista. So its a Vista issue. Not a PC issue.
