New Power block

Thread Starter
As I'm about to upgrade my Inspiron 9400 to a 7950 GTX GPU and quite probably 4 gb of ram soon, I've read that I will need a new Power Adapter since 90W won't be enough.

My question is: Is PA13 (130W) enough? Everywhere I look on this forum, they say you should get a PA13 (130W) or a PA15 (150W)...

Is there any reason to get the PA15 (150W), because if not, there would be no reason to pay more for extra power if you don't need it. In that case, why mention de PA15 (150W) at all?

thanks!!!!

Hi

I would be intereseted in an answer too. Although my question would be, if a bigger power supply would be needed if you ran the Laptop with an overclocked 7900 GSX (7900 GS with a GTX Bios @ 600/800) and 4 GB of Ram.

Any answer would be great :-)
Thanks a lot in advance

PA13 from the M1710 will work perfectly, no reason at all to get the PA15

Yeah the PA-13 is fine for it

Thanks for your answers!!!

So the PA15 is only mention because it could also be an alternative, but we do not need that much power. Great.

To make an analogy, il would be like to build a Nuclear Power Plant in order to Power your house instead of using a sufficient number of Power generators. Would work, but cost more...lol

PA13 will be fine, i ran my 7900gs at 600/800 on my 90w brick and it was fine.

i don't know, it must be a female thing. my wife uses logical analogy's to try to explain things to me, like i need explanation. it is always something completely ridiculous too, something that could never happen. i just thought it was miki and her 160 iq brain over thinking though

My wife is just the same, even something so stupid she has to give me a 10 minute explanation as to why it is or why something the way it is, and when i ask her to shut up she goes on again. Thats women though, i guess they are all the same.
