Dell D630 Urgent Help

Thread Starter
Hi, i just bought this new laptop a few months ago its a Dell D630, i have vista business installed on it. But since yesterday when i switch it on the dell logo screen comes up and then it says Operating system failed to load.

Could anyone help how i can fix this, i put the vista installation cd in to re install vista but when i load the laptop from cd drive it says press any key to boot from CD, i do that and then it just displays the vista loading screen and doesnt do anything else.

Im really stuck and need urgent help on this as my work is stored on the laptop and i need to access it ASAP!

Thanks

Power down the laptop, hold down the fn key and press the power button. This will load Dell's pre-boot system assessment. This is a basic diagnostic test of your hardware which will eventually get you into Dell's 32bit Diag program. It's possible your hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

sounded like a bad drive, go into bios and see if u could see the drive from there
u might want to post (&search) in the dell forum as well

Did you try booting into safe mode?
It's strange that you're getting the OS failing to load and then not reading the DVD. Make sure DVD is in fully and spins properly
