You know what? YOu can't blame this huge increase on the canadian dollar; the dollar has been fluctuating between 0.74 and 0.75 for weeks (months) now, and that's only a 50$ difference in the final price.
When the Radeon 9700 comes out, if there's another 200$ US price increase on top of that, no question, I'm buying elsewhere. Because then we'll be talking a 600-700$ price hike from that it was 3 days ago, I just can't afford these constant price hikes!!!!

This was why I really expect(ed) to see something today, a way of breaking it in with the increase and make the release look like a smaller increase.
My config today was $3,285 US, $154 more than my printout from a few weeks ago.
Although I think they will still raise it another $100-150 on release, they have $215 to work with on me. If it goes over $3,500 on my current config, with or without the 9700, I will be long gone.
