Dell XPS 1530 .vs 1330

I have a few questions for any Dell XPS 1530 owners out there.

Its been a while since I have visited this forum and its good to be back in the notebook market again. The one that seems to be catching my eye the most is the Dell XPS 1530

I want something small light but still enough power to play a few games, WOW mostly.

I thought the XPS 1530 with 256MB video card would be good for this application.
I do have a few questions about it however.
Is the processor User upgradeable?
If it is I may be able to go with a lesser one for now and upgrade later on.
Which screen is the best option in your opinion?
Is it worth the extra $100 for the highest Res Screen.
Memory and Hard drives I know I can upgrade myself later, so they are not really an issue.
Also wondering how the 1330 does with games It would be nice to have one that small but with the lower video card and the smaller screen which one would you think gives the most bang for the buck.

Also has anyone ever gotten a refurbished Dell XPS from the Dell outlet and how has that worked out if you have?

I know big post and lots of questions but just some things I would like to know before taking the plunge.

It would be better if you posted your question in this forum.

Only going on what I know, and I do work with the 1525 at school. The 1530 will play any game out right now from medium to high settings. If you have the money to get the higher resolution screen, then do so. Having more real estate to work and play with is well worth the money, and you’ll be glad you did!

Just about everything on the 1530 is user upgradable, so you could go with the lesser CPU, and opt for a faster CPU later on down the road. A neat feature is the CD/DVD drive being slot loaded, wish they all came that way.

Now to the 1330!

It will do all of what you want it for in a small package. The GPU is an 8400 DX10 (class 3), which is not terrible. But buying new these days, you want to opt for something that has at least an 8600 or faster GPU if you’re a gamer. Not saying the 8400 is a light weight, but the 8600GT in the 1525 is a class 2 graphics option, and will insure you a much richer experience, especially using a higher resolution display.

Braingoo!

WoW doesn't really require much, either should run it just fine.

Indeed it is me Braingoo. and its been forever since I been on here.

But I sold my Area 51m and the Sager that I had the Screen completely broke off the hinges. (still runs well as a headless game server)

So I'm in the market again.

I know it does not take much to play Wow but I also have COD4, Orange BOX, and several other games that I enjoy playing. But wow is a constant time sucker and I want something portable enough to take with me and powerful enough to play most everything.

This seems to fit that bill nicely.

I think I am pretty much sold on the 1530 now the new T9300 chip is available its just a matter of financing the thing.

Howdy Braingoo! I have the 1530, but you probably only need a 1330 for WOW. Just make sure that 13" is a big enough screen for you, or 15.4"

i have the 1530 too (check out my review in the Dell Reviews section), and itll come down to personal prefrence, really, over 13" screen and 15.4" screen in that regard
