Hi,
we're currently facing some severe Problems with my girlfriend's Acer Aspire 5610Z.
After a guinea pig had decided to eat the power cord of the original power adapter (which was luckily not plugged in) we have already ordered two different replacement adapters (different models of different no-name companies, but having the correct voltage and being designed for Acer notebooks). Both work as they are supposed to, at least concerning charging and powering the notebook. Still, after having been plugged in for about 15 minutes, the notebook starts to show strange symptoms. Especially the touchpad is barely usable anymore, as its sensitivity suddenly drops and the mouse pointer becomes less and less controllable. The Synaptics driver clearly display the weak signal in the Pressure Graph as well. Unplugging the AC adapter for a second and plugging it in afterwards again makes the symptoms disappear again for a while until they start again.
I'm quite sure that this is not a software problem, as reinstalling the drivers etc. did not change anything and the touchpad was working fine before the AC adapter was swapped. Has anyone ever noticed similar symptoms before and has any kind of workaround?
Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Joshua
