Anyone know how to translate blinking battery lights?

For a few days now, my M70 battery light has been acting odd. Over the course of about a second, it will flash yellow 5 times then green for about a quarter second, then off for about a half second, then repeat the cycle. What does this mean?

That means the battery is too warm to charge. Happened once with mine while I left it docked with the screen closed and was gaming oh high-performance mode.

Hmm, interesting. It is docked and closed, but I'm not doing anything with it. Just came back from an hour lunch where it was just on screensaver, and it's still blinky. I'll figure something out, thanks.

Battery could be dead as well. Go into BIOS and check battery information there. It should tell you if the battery is good or not. I suspect your battery is toast considering the M70 has been out for quite some time.

All I did was pull out the d/bay battery and put it back in... fixed.

Has happened once before with the main battery too, but I didn't notice the light blinking; just noticed it wasn't charging at all. Pulled out, put back in. Must be some kind of controller that manages battery usage on the mobo thats going bad or something...

I have a Dell D820 with similar problems. Tried replacing with new battery and same results, blinking amber/orange light (5X) then back to green then recycles pattern...

Thanks for any help.
