I have 2 Toshiba Laptops. One is Satellite M35X-S149 about 3 years old. The second is a newer Satellite Tablet . No one seems to be able to answer why the older one will maintain a steady Mbps with my Verizon wireless DSL and the newer Tablet, sitting right next to it will drop very low and sometimes to 1.0Mpbs. The only remedy is to use REPAIR or REBOOT to get it back up to a decent Mbps. The signal strength on each reports an EXCELLENT signal. The Tablet, the problem child uses an Intel(R)Wireless 2200BG Network Connection and the older laptop, teacher's pet, uses a Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC. Which is all Greek to me but I figured someone might ask or be helped by that information. I have tried to compare the settings in the Hardware tab of System in Control Panel but don't see anything I'd dare change. Does anyone know a setting I might change or is there any programs that would "refresh" the speed at intervals as the REPAIR button does. Many thanks in advance. I'm sure someone might say it's a Verizon issue, but with 2 Toshibas side by side and one, the same one is always good and the other, the same one is always bad they're going to say it's a setting issue. Regards!
