RAM question

I have a dell 1705 that came with 2 X 1GB sticks of ram that are PC2- 5300 (333 mhz). I was wondering why the DRAM frequency is running at 333 mhz when the front bus speed of the cpu is 667 mhz. Shouldnt PC2- 5300 RAM run at a frequency of 667 mhz?

PC-5300 is clocked at 667 MHz, DDR2 memory does two transfers per clock. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2_SDRAM
