hey guys.I purchased my alienware about 2 1/2 months ago and play wow alot on it.I been having problems installing games and being kicked out of wow with several errors.I just click the game and start again.Well I was playing wow and stopped to bet my daughter on rockband and will i was playing the drums I started to smell something burning like a electric burning and I looked over at my laptop and there was smoke coming from it.I rused over but was to late..it already shut off and the light on the power pack/block thing was flashing like crazy.so I unplugged it.My alienware wont turn on at all now.Anyone have this happened or heard of it happening? Just trying to get a idea of what happened.I was also getting video driver errors just a doy or so prior to this. Any info is helpfull.thx

Man... that sucks to hear what happened to your m9750.

Just send it in, I don't think that they are going to blame you and then not help you out!

What kind of error messages were you getting before it died? Maybe it can pinpoint the hardware.

call the technical number on ur alienware card they give and someone should be able to help you... i dont know if they are there right now to answer ur call but I would give it a try and see if there are there...

error about memory or something like that
cant read memory or something
if it cant read memory it could just be ur RAM... if u could take out one stick and try to boot... and if that doesnt work put the other stick in and try again to boot...i would unscrew the back panel and look at the video card and ram and processor and see if anything is fried or what...

Well Steve I thank you for your help offered but I spoke to Alienware this morning and we figured it out to be a bad graphics card and they are sending me a new one,2 actually.I was i bit concered removing the cards myself but the tech was very helpful and I was able to remove them with no problems.Though it bothers me not knowing how the card was damaged in the first place.I guess these things just happen.Well I will post a follow up after I replace the cards.Thx again everyone for the help.
