any1 have an m1710 with vista sp1? any problems?

my m1710 has the 7950gtx, bluetooth, and creative sound package which i hope doesn't cause any issues.

Well, I just checked Windows Update and it doesnt show up for me... ARGH. Still trying to determine why....

Well, I updated the 7900GTX driver from Dell (they released 174.31 today) via Driver Downloads. Still no go on SP1. Figures. Cmon Dell - get your hardware drivers together. Who knows what it is... Pisses me off though.

i downloaded vista sp1 from msdn, not from windowsupdate. yeah i saw that dell released a new driver for the 7950gtx, im kinda scared to install it.

Well, here's why I don't see it - I'm going to guess a vast majority of M1710 users will not either... again, due to lack of updated drivers from Dell...

To help ensure a positive update experience, Windows Update will temporarily not offer Windows Vista SP1 to systems that have the following device drivers. In some cases, these device drivers are problematic on Windows Vista-based computers when you update to Windows Vista SP1. By installing updated device drivers, you will resolve the issue and enable Windows Update to offer Windows Vista SP1.

Have you been able to overclock (assuming you have unlocked your Video BIOS) with the latest Dell 174.31?
Thanks

You'll need to use the STOCK BIOS for your card in order to overclock with drivers newer than 169.04 (meaning 169.09 and up). I can overclock fine using the stock BIOS on my Quadro FX 3500M and 174.31.

As far as the drivers thing, I was able to download SP1 via Windows Update using the drivers that I provided in THIS THREAD.

I update them often, and they're pretty much the newest drivers you can get from Dell.

Is there any way to download other than through torrent or windows update such as being hosted on the MS website or something?

Nvm, desktop has now been approved for SP1

I am not getting the elusive "Sp1 Available" update either. I've gone through my whole pile of sheeat drivers, updated what I could....and no go.

Starting to piss me off.

For some weird reason or another - the fooker magically appeared (after checking more than 10 times manually).

Installing now

The POS Creative Audigy MB that I paid 25 bones for is still not allowing me to update. After checking Creative's site, the update they have appears to be incompatible with the Audigy MB from Dell. It says something about no device to update. I'm almost tempted to uninstall the crap ware.

Figure, after refreshing several times, win update is now showing it... Thanks Fenuxx - i used your referenced thread to update the sigmatel driver.

I found the link on one of the Blogg sites I read tonight and downloaded/installed, replaced my old video driver with the new one posted at Dell and my lappy is running noticibly faster and smoother now. I like SP1 and I like Vista. Runs much better than any of my XP machines.
The only real thing I notice about SP1 so far is increased speed copying files over the network. About time - prior to SP1, copying any files over the network was pointless.

I do not see any different yet on SP1 beside mem recog
