a45 memory upgrade

Thread Starter
A friend has a Satellite A45-S150 and wants to upgrade the memory. Can he use any PC2100 DDR SODIMM, or does it have to be the (more expensive) Toshiba-compatible memory?

For example, would this memory work?

CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 266 (PC 2100)

I have a Toshiba a55 s106. I want to max out the memory . I installed 2 1 gig sticks but it beeps when I try to boot up. It will run with one in it.
Also is there a reset button on this machine. It was given to me with a bad screen which has been replaced.

I am getting differant info as to what it actually will upgrade to.

According to this: http://www.memorystock.com/memory/To...A55Series.html
That machine either came with 256MB or 512MB memory and can be maxed out to 2G's of PC2700 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs and like most Toshibas, whatever memory that came with it, will be in the slot under the keyboard.
"Reset button"??????? what do you hope to reset and to what????

Like most machines when it locks up

usually on laptops there is no reset so you don't accidentally reset in use. tapping power usually puts it to sleep / wakes the machine and holding the power button in for a few seconds will power it off completely. you could hold the power in and shut down... it's really no less graceful than a reset.
