'mishandled' being the key word. My son has broek the screen on his Acer 4 times with not very much abuse. They are laptops/notebooks some care and caution is required. If not get a toughbook or something.

There's the issue. People think, "Ultra-portable? I'll just throw it in bag with a bunch of other sh!t and it'll be fine!" Just because it's lighter than many textbooks doesn't mean u want it slopping around in a bag sandwiched between them.

I'm the same boat here. Wife wants one for email/surfing/word processing and picture editing (non PS). I think I'd want that wireless backup for it.
