64bit Vista, did anyone get it from Dell with their m1730?

Just curious, I asked customer service about getting a copy of Vista x64. They said I would have to buy a retail copy of Vista. Has anyone gotten a copy from Dell without buying a second copy of Vista?

It has to be ordered w/ the system.

I believe that if you have Vista, you can call M$oft and request a 64bit disk though it does cost $ . I think it is called the Windows Anytime Upgrade disk.

In all reality, OEM's are the only ones that "Split" the Vista OS disk. Retail disks will activate whatever the key states. Also in retail, Ultimate comes with a 64bit disk too I think...

btw.. since SP1, Vista Ultimate 64 is running better than XP ever did for me IMO. Well except a small glitch with switching my video between my big screen and the laptop screen which I think I just fixed

I have Dell's Vista Ultimate 64-Bit at home but since my system hasnt really been usalbe in the 1 1/2 I have had it, I havent had the chance to test it out.

PS- It did not come with my system I did get Vista Ultimate but only the 32-bit version, I got it through other means and Dell makes a 64-Bit version but I have no Idea where they actually use it.
