Is anyone actually using the AR machines?

Thread Starter
I stumbled upon the new AR61 machiens (called AR7XX in the states I think) and looking being a software developer/consultant looking for a mobile 17" powerhouse, I got interested. But, after almost a day of searching for reviews, forum posts etc, it seems like very few people actually use the AR machines, or ever have? The previous model, the AR51 doesnt turn up all that many hits when searching for reviews and forum posts either. I've owend A LOT of laptops in my days (currently a MacBook Pro) but have never owned a VAIO, so I am not a "brand expert" as some of you in here migth be, so all this makes me a bit conserned, as I dont feel like being the first ever to try these babies out. Especially considering I am to use this a a tool in my work and not just for pleasure. Should I?

Edit: A global forum search here for "AR51" (which has been out for a while now) only gives me this thread, which doesn't exactly easy my worries.

Thats probably because there fairly terrible not because of build quality or anything like that as in this area there great usual Sony quality and there support is second to none. The reason for me saying terrible is because they release new ones every few months and then forget the fact that they have made any previous models. I have the AR21S and many drivers especially the video one hasnt seen an update since the laptops release. My other reason for saying there terrible is because with Vista Sony just seem to have made no effort what so ever to make sure there laptops and utilities work at there best with Vista and as a result the laptops are to the point of unuseable through being so slow and inresponsive. I know some people have there troubles with Vista and I know its a resouce hungry OS but many other laptops with equal spec to the AR61ZU which work ok with the OS and have minor issues. I cant honestly recomend anyone to even consider a Sony Vaio as a result of these issues which is such a shame as like I say they are so well built and look stylish.
