Notebook Dimming problem

Thread Starter
I have a msi 1022 notebook and lately it has been switching from battery to AC power randomly while plugged in. Today I decided to see what would happen with only the AC power connected. It started right up but the screen now dims and brightens (every 5 seconds or so) as if it were switching to battery power and trying to conserve the battery.
First, what would be the cause of this? I was guessing the motherboard because it has several other problems (audio, usb) but thats another issue.
Secondly, is there a program that can override the windows controller and keep the brightness at a certain level. I've tried FN+F5 but that only works for about 5-10 seconds. I dont mind the problems with the usb and audio, a restart usually fixes those problems, but the dimming/brightening screen is reallllly driving me nuts.

Thanks,

u might want also take a look at using NHC (Notebook Hardware Control) to force the comp always on full stress and see the issue of dimming can be resolved

just noted that u pin modded ur cpu:
. is ur bios up to date?
. did the dimming issue happen sometimes ater the pin modding?

cheers ...
