what are you talking about.

I could beat any dual 8700's with 1 single 7900gtx or 7950 at high res.

check any posts ask anyone in this forum.

the dual 8700's are weak.

if you don't know this you must be clueless.

Jeez, guys what's the point of this?
it's all over the place.

In DX10

8700's are weak for dx10.

plus I have an 8800 and all I play my games is in dx9 and XP

I admit I don't play nothing in DX10. But the 7950GTX don't even have that option! Plus when there is a only DX10 game it will kill a DX9 performance wise.

actually you may be right but. like you said you don't even use dx10/

dx10 is very over-rated.

kinda like vista.

I don't use vista. but it's there and some people say it's better.....

you can't compare dx10 to dx9 when the 7950 doesn't even go there.

i mean since you don't even use dx10, the 7950 would be a competitor.

Pure DX10 is alot faster than DX9. It's just a DX9 to DX10 port that slows it down. The main improvement for DX10 was performance, but noone has made a pure DX10 game yet!

he's right, the 7900 gtx and the 7950 gtx really rock the 8700 sli in high res... i have both, and it really is true... however, i have yet to test a dx 10 game... i dont think it would make a HUGE diff...
It wouldn't... The 8700's are crippled by memory bandwidth foremost, and shading power second. DX10 would likely just slow the card down, and if it did help, it would be very minimal.

We're getting off-track here. Anyway there is no Pure DX10 game yet when there is your 7*** series is out in the cold.

What's better the Desktop 7900GS SLI or 8700M GT SLI? Cause I was playin' with someone on Gears and he was at 1650x1050 and getting worse FPS

haha nonya is getting so defensive...

i have 8700 sli also... im not denying that its a good gpu, all im saying is that with the current games out there, the 7950 gtx will beat the 8700 sli at higher resolutions.

I'm just pissed that Hacks is not satisfied with a $3,500 laptop for $1,900. Not everybody is going to get a deal like that ( Unlike me . )

Just search craigslist, and have cash ready.

I've seen even better deals on craigslist NYC. Just have to becareful though.

what i really hate about the 1730 is the form factor (its nice but ive gotten spoiled to the slimmer e1705) and the terrible placement of ports.... 1 on the left, 1 in the back, two on the right??/ just seems awkward... i miss 6 usb ports.

Only thing I HATE about M1730 is the power adapter.

It's a huge factor that stops me from carrying this thing anywhere off my desk.

Yeah I hate the power adapter. It makes it so hard to move the laptop anywhere and you have to move it with it cause you are lucky if you get an hour of use off batter power.
