Its an IBM Think pad, not sure on all the specs but I do know it has a Pentium M Dothan 1.7Ghz.
The laptop will not boot up. When you turn it on, nothing happens. The lights on the keyboard bezel light up, then nothing.
He says he can get it to boot sometimes, but it takes a while. He has to power cycle it (turn it on, off, on, off) until it finally boots. He knows it will boot because the CD-ROM drive's "read" light starts to blink, and it'll boot. I was unsuccessful in getting it to boot however.
He also mentioned he would slap the top of the notebook sometimes to get it to boot (right above where the hard drive is)
I took the laptop apart, looked around for anything loose/broken and found nothing. Removed the hard drive and put in one of my spares. No change.
I removed the hard drive and tried to boot it hard drive-less, no change.
I even tested the cmos battery, it was good. 3+ volts.
Any suggestions?
