Very slow MacBook Pro .

Thread Starter
Hi,

I've had a MBP for approx. 8 months now. It is a 2.2Ghz with 2Gb RAM.

Recently, it has become a lot slower than usua. Sometimes there is even input lag, both on the keyboard and even the remote control.

I've been a Windows user for forever so I'm a little on the clueless side on what to check on Mac OS :P

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11

Thanks in advance!

Hmm...I never heard of that one before. I'm going to check it out and see if it has anything interesting. From what I saw on the website it looks like it does stuff that is already accessible from other parts of the GUI but nothing on the page is clickable but the download buttons so there's no expanded information.

Your problems is quite common due to problems that can creep up due to low maintenance of your mac's file system. To remedy this please, navigate to the utilities folder under application and open Disk Utility. In Disk Utility you can click on hard drive partition you are using. Then click on the first aid tab and select repair permissions. After that restart you computer with the mac os x restore disk in the drive and hold the c key at boot. This will take you to the mac os installer where you can open disk utility under the utilities menu at the top of the screen. In disk utility select the drive as before, but instead click repair disk. This will not corrupt your data and your mac should be running quicker.
