Second HDD on Satellite P200-V16(PSPB6E)?

There is an empty drawer for the second HDD. But is it really possible to add one?
And if yes, is there a raid controller making it possible to organize 2 HDD's into raid 0?

Well, may be I was not clear enough, but my question
adresses the possibility of hardware upgrade.
I.e. question 1 reformulated:
Are there SATA interface pins in the empty drawer,
permitting one to physically connect second HDD?

Question 2): If I can add second HDD at all,
can I configure both disks as raid 0?
In other words, is the raid controller physically present
on the motherboard of this specific model?

. based on ur "PSPB6E" the link states the way to set up raid
. regarding ur "Are there SATA interface pins in the empty drawer,
permitting one to physically connect second HDD?" meaning that u dont have it in the comp that u currently have. Either u have it or u dont at delivery.

the corresponding INTEL drivers are applicable. Well, of course, "PSPB6E"
has SATA AHCI controller in its motherboard (and the correspondiong driver

the Raid controller as well. For this specific model. I suspect there is no
Raid controller here, which permits one to make the model a pair of dozens $$
cheaper. But I would like this to be confirmed (or refuted)

I do not know whether I have them or not.
I've never saw SATA pins before (only IDE).
And I would not like to disconnect the present HDD from its pins just
to see how they look like. Because I am not sure whether
I will not loose the 2 year's warranty in case I'll do this.
In an empty drawer there are 2 rows of male pins not connected to
anything and protected by kind of a transparent plastic cover.
But I do not know exactly what for they are.
That's why I am asking a knowledgeable person hoping to
get an informative answer instead of a tautological statement
that "either I have it or I dont at delivery".

the P200 is generally described, the next clue was the PSPB6E generalisation. Not all models r available in all countries. It was probably helpful when u clearly stated where u bought the machine and a link referencing it

then chance is that u do have the place to install the 2nd drive for Raid (as in my statement "either u have it or u dont AT DELIVERY) .. may be i should have said that if "no connector" present then u have no mean to 2nd drive.

hmmm, too bad u took it that way! (& a bit of ungratefulness) it was hard enough to pull out more info from OP (like pulling teeth) as it was
the other way around could be that one played with "dumb" query to trap people to be a fool of themselves. Inputs can only be good as queries that were being presented

& my "either I have it or I dont at delivery" statement still stands

I.e. pins in this picture does not look like those in Your one.
So the question remains: what for are they?

On the other hand, on the same site I've found a more or less clear
picture of a SATA drive

where one sees a row of pins with the same 7/15 structure as pins
inside the empty drawer. So again I can not decide unambiguously
whether it is possible or not to add a second hdd to my laptop

I seemed to have found the answer. What I originally thought
as "pins" of SATA connector seems to be just contacts
on the back side of combined SATA (7)+power (15) connector.
And this contacts just connect SATA connector itself to the motherboard.
Am I right?

Thank You! This is really informative. In Toshiba's User's guide
the operation of RAM upgrade is described, but the operations of hdd
and/or DVD drive replacing are not described. So one could suspect
they are forbidden for users.

I thought that my original questions were clear enough,
inspite of being too laconic, may be. The laptop model
was fixed practically unambiguously. OK, may be
it would be better were I cited the whole part number
PSPB6E-03D00QG3 instead of its first part only.
In any case the short name p200-16v is enough to
identify the model.

So my questions were quite unambigous and clear, imho.
And I was expecting the answers to be given to the questions
I've asked (is it possible to add a second hdd
&do there exists a raid controller in the given model?),
not for something I never asked for (what kind of
drivers are needed for the raid controller or how to install
these drivers).

In any case I apologize myself if You feel hurt by my ungratefulness

ur OP = P200-V16!

p200-16v: u should have the capability to play with Raid

That's what the SATA & power look like from the side. if you look end-on it looks like the picture I posted earlier (except that picture didn't show the power connector - which is the smaller set of "pins").

so, yes. you're right.
