m1330 Dual External Monitors

Thread Starter
I have a Dell M1330 with the Nvidia 8400m graphics card. I want to run dual 19" or 22" monitors. The monitors would be roughly 1400 X 900. Can I run one monitor on the HDMI port and the other on the VGA port. I have searched everywhere and Cannot find an answer.

I just spoke with dell XPS portable support and they said that there shouldnt be a problem running dual external monitors, one via VGA and the other via HDMI.

He said that running dual 19" monitors at 1400 X 900 will not be a problem running normal windows functions. Obviously, don't plan on gaming with the setup or any video intensive uses but it should work fine for normal windows operation

Hello,

This is Richard from the Online Community Outreach. Yes that is correct that two external LCD's will work fine. But you already know that because you found out the information by yourself.

I just wanted to add that while both external displays are in use, the computer’s LCD will not work. Only two displays at a time is maximum video signal output. So, if you turned on the computer’s LCD then only one of the external LCD would display video.
