T61 14.1" (WXGA TFT) Widescreen with discrete graphics:

CPU: T8100 (additional $31.87 for T8300) --- not sure because both 3MB Cache and I honestly don't know if 300MHz more will make a difference to me - I'll be multitasking and casual gaming (ex. Guild Wars, GTA, Civilization, AoE, etc.)

OS: Vista Home Premium

Graphics: nVIDIA QUadro NVS 140M

Memory: 1GB - 1 DIMM (additional $44.62 for 2GB - 1 DIMM or additional $70.12 for 3GB - 2 DIMM) --- I'll be buying memory separately if I get 1GB, it'll cost me $50 to $60 for a Crucial or Corsair 2GB (2GB x 1)

Point Device: UltraNav with Fingerprint Reader

. memory, hard drive = good investment/upgrade
. not sure about the extra 30$ plus for the cpu (may be u could nudge the salesperson to have this upgrade for free)

Some suggestions

A few suggestions:
1. CPU: T8300 is a better choice for the price
2. LCD screen: If you use Excel or office applications, you probably would apprecicate the WXGA+ (1440x900)
3. IMO, the FingerPrint reader is kind of useless
4. Maybe consider DVD/RW? upgrade later would cost you more because its UltraSlim (9.5mm)
