If you suggest i can do it by my self, can you please recomend the best brand... thanks

You could install your own RAM into your system, but you would have to contact Alienware before you do it, so they can put it in the record that you installed new RAM.
The brands I would use are OCZ, Kingston, and Geil.

Last place on earth would be Best Buy, and if they were the last place, I would turn to Radio Shack instead (and last time I checked they were as clueless as Best Buy).

Changing Ram will not void warranty, and I have never heard/read anything about contacting AW about informing them about any changes you make that is not under warranty.

go to newegg.com and look for 200pin SO-DIMM DDR2 RAM for laptops at 667mhz with 4 gigs you will only see around 3.2 gigs... right now I have G.SKill in my m9750 but i have heard that Geil looks really sweet in laptops but with the m9750 its a tight squeeze to fit them in the laptop with those covers on the RAM which can be removed if needed... newegg.com has depots across the US and I got my RAM the next day since they have a warehouse in memphis and I live in Arkansas...

It depends really. At the Best Buy where I live, the worker was actually really knowledgeable about RAM. Suprisingly...I bought some Corsair RAM from there.

Changing RAM will not void warranty. I sent my computer for repairs with extra RAM installed with no trouble at all.

Best Buys near me are more interested in selling 75foot plasma screens than Ram.

Seriously they carried Corsair?? Most of the time its Kingston or PNY and very basic chips at that. I usually have to order that from Newegg or just directly from them.

Yea, I bought 2 sticks of Corsair, 1 GB each from them, Notebook ram. They also had Kingston, OCZ, and PNY as well.

If would be nice if someone could just post a link of the best 2 plz...

Gskill is good GEil is good too... i would read the reviews of people... I would get a CL4 Ram since they are about the same price and its alittle better on performance from CL5

I would suggest you save your money, 4gb isn't worth the money b/c it's basically useless w/ a 9750.

we are limited by the chipset and will only recognize 2.5 gb

yes I learned the hardway =(

Yang! You know you could always go 64-bit

not with the m9750 even with 64 bit OS it will only show 2.5 to 3.2 and that is it... its a chipset limitation... not an OS issue...
