Partially introduced some two weeks ago, Radeon HD 3850 X2 is now looking more like retail reality that will debut in Q2. Still powered by two 55nm RV670 chips, the 3850 X2 is said to provide manufacturers with quite a few options in terms of clocks and memory size but what more certain (although not confirmed) is that it will have, upon release a price tag close to that of the GeForce 9800 GTX.

Expected to have wither 512MB or 1GB of GDDR3 memory at 1800 MHz and sub-800 MHz-clocked GPUs, the Radeon HD 3850 X2's price will hover between $299 and $379. ETA is late Q2, May or early June, likely before Computex.

Yeah...this card falls in the "too little too late" category. Especially if the 9800GTX does indeed sell for $299.

This is also the same time ATI is expected to start selling it's next gen RV770.

I hope it's earlier than June.
