Bleuscreens on M1710

Thread Starter
Hi,

The past 2 weeks I constantly get bleuscreens on my dell XPS M1710(running ultimate 32 bits).

Yesterday I upgraded my system to a 250 gb harddisk and the motherboard and GPU have been replaced by Dell.

But Yesterday after installing my belkin netwerk USB hub I got 2 bleuscreens... But they disappeared so fast, that I couldn't read them...
This morning I have uninstalled the Belkin drivers and no bleuscreen have appaered up to now

The past two weeks I, because of the bleuscreens, I formatted my computer. I always got the following bleuscreen:

Any ideas what it could be? The belkin netwerk usb hub? (I use the latest drivers from belkin)

THNX!!!!!

Here are a couple of resources to check out:

This references Windows 2000, but believe it or not it is the same code in the HAL attempting to control and access a bogus driver to some piece of hardware as the code used in Vista:

Just Google: "Windows STOP: 0x00000018"

You'll get tons of hits. I would send an email to the Belkin tech support folks as well, include the "REFERENCE_BY_POINTER" and the entire line containing the "*** STOP:" message.

From everything I have read about this stop message, it is directly related to a bad pointer reference in a hardware driver.

Good luck :-)
