So here is the BIG question... Quadro 3600M in a M1710 - Page 18

After flashing with modded ID and before re-boot, no change in screen brightness.

After re-boot power up, black blank screen before BIOS (ie in terms of video, the machine was as good as off), which didn't change.

After reflashing with stock ROM, and rebooting the screen brightness is probably less than previous (may be due to the card using a different more up to date driver now after uninstalling card and deleting previous driver, pre the flash with the modded ROM).

basically the bios did not detect or like it very much after the flash and then windows detected the wrong drivers which also resulted in no video.

its like this bios tries to detect card, but if it fails it will keep booting then windows will also try to detect it.

well theres always dell to fix this right thumbdown.gif

question

do you also have the problem with the core clock, . . . . . . can you overclock the card to stock freqs.

I've overclocked the FX3600M using MSI Afterburner, but not through modding the ROM (this being the first time I've ever flashed a card).

I've had it overclocked by 8% and it appeared stable, - not fully tested. Temperatures being the other issue, - but not too bad actually (depending on the ambient air temperature).

Eliss - picking up on your post #328.

What if we were to force flash the FX1600M ROM onto the FX3600M after modding it to the specs of the FX3600M?

I can supply both the FX1600M and the FX3600M ROM if there is somebody out there who can evaluate them as to; whether it might be successful, and what the risks are of killing the FX3600M trying it (zz pulp, dave-p, - you out there?).

doing that will almost definitely brick the card, I would not even attempt it if I were you.

Yeah - I thought that would likely be the case, hence the call for someone to evaluate if it might look feasible.

I was coming from the fact that a number of years ago a modified Go 7900GTX Rom was being force flashed on the Go 7900GS producing the Go 7900GSX ( zz pulp, and dave-p being involved I think).

On a different tack.

Is there anything more to overclocking through the card ROM than setting the clocks to the same stable values as per overclocking through the likes of MSI Afterburner?

Someone fixed a dim issue on there e1705 by doing this. So simple. I wonder if it would be a quick fix in this matter.

Unfortunately, - No.

All they are doing is connecting, disconnecting, and reconnecting the card output, to the inverter, and sceen.
