Replacement G3 processor?

A friend of mine has a G3 iBook with a dead CPU.

Does anyone know where we could find a replacement CPU and/or CPU+motherboard combination to resuscitate the machine?

www.apple.com They have plenty of CPU+motherboard combos, built into a system. ;-)

I'm guessing by the time your friend pays for a new logic board he/she will be at least a third of the way toward buying an entry level MacBook. You can only do a full logic board/CPU replacement on Apple's notebooks. Personally, I'd use that money towards the investment in a new system.

If this was a G3 PowerMac or even iMac you'd be able to do this but there are no processor upgrades for iBooks that I know of.
