Cool. The Samsung SH-S203 was rated the fastest at indicated speeds. For $25....just hard to beat.

Regarding the 8400 - I haven't reports of a bad one yet.

@ZX81 - P35 boards are indeed good clockers. If anyone is interested in a P35, buy one now. They are also EOL. P45 will be out before summer as it's official replacement and sport ICH10R.

I think it was on anandtech's forums, I saw some guys calling out a specific batch as bad. They were saying you could still overclock it past 4G easily, but they had to really boost the voltage. A lot of people there are seeing 4G though, on stock voltages...

As for the p35, a lot of people at HardOCP really like the Abit p35 boards...

Just booted with the Q9450 today. I plan on tweaking either later today or this weekend.

About benchmarks...I just updated my "Windows Experience" score.

Everything is pegged except the hard disk performance. (The E6750 OCed to 4.1 only scored 5.8. The Q9450 stock bounced it up to 5.9)
Everything is at 5.9 with my setup, except the E8400 @ 3.825G gets a 5.8... Wonder how high it needs to be OC'ed to get to 5.9...?

You're unhappy with 5.8? It only goes up to 5.9

Why hell yeah! Wouldn't you be pissed if your hard drive was the only thing sucking your score down...

Working fine so far. I haven't OCed yet, but will in the next few days. Still researching...

Well, my research is turning out to be a bit depressing with the Q9450. Some folks are booting at over 4.0Ghz, but only with extreme overvolts on the CPU.

It's looking like 3.6 is the sweet spot - with a few 3.8 24/7 systems here and there.

I'll try to get to it sometime this week. My neighbors/family kept me busy over the past weekend.

Well - my Samsung 226BW took a crap on me Saturday. 3 vertical rows of stuck pixels.

This isn't a bad thing - I am returning it to Microcenter for exchange.

Now I'm trying to decide which 24" monitor to exchange it for. I've seen mixed reviews on the Gateway FHD 2400. There were early reports of bad backlight bleed. The newer revisions seem to be quite a bit better. Needless to say, it is one of my top considerations...the picture quality on this thing looks amazing.

Will post links when I get home.

Any reason against Dell monitors? In my experience they are excellent monitors (have a 2007WFP)

Wow. I've never had a monitor crap out on me like that. Glad you're getting it taken care of.

Absolutely nothing against Dell - but the Gateway I'm talking about appears to have a better picture.

Here is the compare link for the 24" screens.

Understandable, gateway recently at least has been looking up for sure in the monitors department

Decide on which monitor yet?
