I ended up with the Gateway FHD 2400.

It has a March manufacture date - which seems to be relatively important, at least according to several posts at *EDIT* another place.

I haven't logged into that account in AGES (more than 3 years). When researching this new monitor, it was one of the tops hits, with more than 50 discussion pages.

I thought you would have the hookups with all of trading you do (did)?

Nope, unfortunately.

You could start a 'monitor savings account'. I know you have parts laying around...I could use a better CPU for the 1705.

Oh - been meaning to ask you if the 1730 was replacing your main 1710 or the spare. I know you would ship it out with all of the upgrades =)
It was a replacement for the formerly warrantied M1710 (not the one in my sig).

Right now, the only parts I have just laying around are a 200GB 7200RPM Seagate HDD, and a 160GB 7200RPM Hitachi HDD.

Glad you're happy with it for sure! Monitors are definitely something I love, even though it technically does the least for the system, what the point in a kickass system without something to show it in it's full glory

I remember my days of having a 17" low res monitor, I hope I never have to go back there

I've been gaming heavily for the past few weeks. [The term heavily is relative to my free time....which is infrequent and sporadic.] At any rate, I haven't had much time to tinker with the Rampage and Q9450.

The two seem to be a good match. I clocked the 9450 to 450 FSB with relative ease a few weeks ago, tested, and pretty much left it at that.

I've spent the past few afternoons attempting to go higher (for the sake of seeing if it can be done), with little success. I've booted at 3.8 several times with numerous settings (researched), but it failed stress testing each time. I know the capability is there, and may try again with BIOS/chipset updates.

For those that overclock - you know it can consume massive amount of time....which I have little of around the house. So - I hate to disappoint, but I think I am going to stick to 450 w/the Q9450, thus ending my OCing endeavors.

I'll try to get the screenies posted by the end of the week - along with some of the detailed BIOS settings if anyone is interested.
