Acer vs Lenovo vs Asus help pls!!!

Hi, I am new to laptops. I have an old Fujitsu Amilo d7830, upgraded. Recenntly, I am thinking about to buy a new one, which is more portable. I have 3 potential favourites: Lenovo Thinkpad R61i, Acer Travelmate 6492 and Asus F8Sg. All of them with 2Ghz Core 2 duo, 2Gb ram and 14.1 inch screen and 3 yrs warranty. Which one would be the best choice, what do you think? I need a solid, strong but portable laptop, with considerable battery life! Thank you all!

The R61 seems to be very popular in this market. It gets great battery life and only weighs 5 pounds. Perhaps you could ask some questions in this thread, one of our members just purchased one.

the R series is the lower end series IIRC

id go with the Asus really, mainly due to style! looks purdy

thinkpads are cool, but only when its the T series

I'd second the Lenovo. While Asus notebooks tend to be durable/dependable, their battery life of late isn't the best. Since Lenovo notebooks also tend to be durable/dependable and this particular one seems to have good battery life as well, I'd say that's your choice.

also @ soulsaver: the F series is Asus' lower end as well
