Ha! H!

I wish!

I'm using two hard drives for my laptop, and don't want to pull one out just to use the DVD/CD drive. So since I want a USB drive, why not get a desktop drive since it will be faster?

That's good stuff State!

I would have jumped at that, if someone would not have mentioned use a desktop version instead. So if you find any good links to a cheap slim form factor desktop model, please post!?

I did not think trying to get a USB powered DVD burner with desktop like speed, would be so hard. Not that it’s hard, but they are way over my budget! And since I’m not going to carry around a full (huge) burner, I guess I will opt on getting a notebook like speed USB powered notebook drive.

Unless someone post one here for $20, I will buy from one of the posted stores in the next week or two. Even then, I’m looking to be out of 60 plus dollars. grrrrrrr…..!

Does this drive have the ability to burn “Dual Layer”?

That's just a DVD reader and CD burner and reader.

So you're looking for a slim external DVD burner for $20?

No sir, I miss spoke.

I was thinking more in the line of $40, if that's not too much to ask for?

I got mine for $70 with lightscribe capabilities so I guess $40 would be reasonable to expect for a used one. GL
