I am going to purchase the DELL XPS M1530 with these configurations:
1. XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800MHzFSB, 6M L2 Cache)
2. Tuxedo Black Casing XPS M1530
3. 4GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm
4. 15.4 inch Wide Screen WSXGA+ TrueLife / WXGA TrueLife
5. Camera Software XPS M1530 2.0MP
6. 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT DDR3 128-bit
7. 200G 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive Free Fall Sensor
8. Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
9. 8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive
10. Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy
11. Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini-card
12. 85 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
13. Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0+EDR)
14. Dell Bluetooth Travel mouse
Questions:
1. What mainboard does the XPS M1530 use? I mean who is the mainboard manufacturer(BRAND).
2. If I choose Dell Bluetooth interface mouse, is it ok with the communication if at the same time I also send data to my cell phones?
I mean wouldn't it make a problem if the bluetooth modukle
3. I'm a bit confused about choosing the battery..What do you think the best I should choose? Is it the 6-cells or the 9-cells? Does it make a lot of difference in real usage time?
4. I read the technical specification, the 6-cells is 58 WHr and the 9-cells is 85 WHr.
Does it mean that the battery can be used for 58 hours and 85 hours before they got empty?
If not, how long (real usage time) does the battery will live to supply power to the machine?
5. I read on other site that someone complaining that DELL battery life is the same for 9-cell and 6-cells that they ran empty so fast..
Is it true?
If 6-cells is enough and the usage time difference is not much then I'll take 6-cells because the price is high..
6. I also have questions about the audio-card. Does it make a lot of difference in performance between the Sound Blaster(R) Audigy(R) ADVANCED MB (Audio Software）and the
Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy?
What do you think the best I should purchase?
7. What LCD does the XPS M1530 use? I mean who is the LCD manufacturer(BRAND).

1. Dell, it is proprietary.
2. Should be fine, will recognise as separate Bluetooth devices.
3. You will get about a third - a half more battery time with the 9-cell. Note that it will add extra weight and bulk to the laptop though (the 9-cell sticks out the back more)
4. Not even close! I wish laptop batteries lasted that long! It is just more tech jargon denoting the battery capacity. Depending on usage (heavier use will drain battery quickly (ie: DVDs, games, etc), light use (internet, word processing) less so), 6-cell will last about 2.5 hours, and the 9-cell 3.5 hours. This is just a rough guide!
5. See above.
6. It's just software for the main part. IMHO, not much difference. Others may have differing opinion, depends on whether you want to splash the cash.
7. This varies depending upon availability at the time.

2. If I use the bluetooth interfaced mouse, then will it affect the battery life if I go outdoors COMPARED to if I use CORDLESS mouse using radio frequency that use the USB module?

Because I think if the BLUETOOTH always ON, then the battery will keep supply all the time because we always use mouse.
What do you think I should choose?

3. Ok..I see, I'll take the 6-cells then because I don't like big and heavy size.

6. Not differ in hardware? So what do you think I should purchase?

7. In general (majority), what LCD brand do all DELL laptops use?

8. About harddrive, what harddrive brand does DELL use (in general / majority)?

9. Is there any news / gossip that DELL will release a new notebook series as the new generation of XPS / Inspiron / Latitude IN THE NEAR FUTURE (3 or 6 months ahead)?
If yes, I'll be waiting for the new series then.

6. I wouldn't, to me it is not worth it... but it does provide a lot more customisation of audio, etc which people find useful and beneficial. Up to you.
7. As I said, this varies! Can be LG, Samsung, etc.... depends upon availability. Some brands more common in different models (as varies with size of LCD screen)
8. Again, varies. I have seen WD, Seagate, Toshiba and Hitachi before. I am sure you could get others such as Samsung, etc as well.
9. There are always revisions, always new technology. The 1530 is fairly new, and could be around for a while longer. But we just don't know until that info is released/ leaked from Dell, whether there will be new models or revisions of current models. I have no time frame for you.

Main thing to note is that Dell is a bulk manufacturer. That means, they procure a lot of hardware components at once, and these can be from different manufacturers depending upon the price they offer at the time, availability of the parts they want, and a number of other factors. You won't know what brand LCD, Hard drive, etc you will have in your laptop until you receive it.

Ok..thank you. by the way, last week I want to purchase it because the DELL Store staff (I plan to buy on store not online) told me that the price he gave me is valid only until 31 March. But for being busy, I couldn't take it that time...

Now the price is higher.

1. How long does the DELL price usually valid?
Because I am a little bit in a hurry to use the notebook..

2. Does the price DIFFER between buying via Store or DELL online?

Harddrive 5400 rpm vs 7200 rpm and 802.11g vs 802.11n

1. I want to compare between 7200 rpm harddrive and the 5400 rpm on my DELL XPS M1530. Does it make a lot of difference in performance?

If not, I will take the 5400 rpm then..

2. Comparing 802.11g and 802.11n, is it make a lot of difference? Because I would like to compare between Intel PRO Wireless and the Intel Next-Gen.
Which one is better in performance?

1. Yes, price will usually differ between in-store and online due to factors such as configuration, shipping, etc. Best way is to configure exactly as you want it online and save the config, then call up and see if you can get a customer service rep to make the deal a little sweeter.
2. Totally depends on your usage.... what are you going to be using the laptop for mostly? If it is just general internet, word processing, etc then you would not notice much difference between the 5400rpm and 7200rpm. If you are using more HDD intensive software then you would notice a favourable difference.
3. Go with n. It is backwards compatible as well as future proof, and doesn't cost a significant amount more.

About Harddrive 5400 vs 7200 RPM, WiFi and LCD Resolution

1. What do you mean by the HDD intensive software?
like a database server? or an application that access large database (ORACLE / SQL Server)?

I think I will use the notebook for programming, but the application I will make, mostly will be loaded from memory, if the memory isn't enough, then it will share additional space from harddrive..

If I play a 3D game or rendering 3D movie, does the harddrive RPM has any effect between 7200 and 5400?

So, which one is better?

7200 or 5400 RPM?

2. Do you know is it possible to share Internet connection from WiFi smartphone to a WiFi notebook?
There is no router / additional device, just these 2 devices. The notebook uses ADSL Connection, the smartphone OS is Windows Mobile 6 Standard Edition.

So I just establish the W-LAN connection and can surf Internet?

3. Which one is the best resolution for LCD? 1680x1050, 1440x900 or 1280x800? Sometimes I will use my XPS M1530 for gaming, like PES2008, Monster Hunting Frontier and also rendering 3-D images, 3-D movie / object.

If I am typing, does the text is too small if I use the 1680x1050?

The price is quite far between 1680x1050 and 1280x800, it's about $120.
What do you think I should take looking at the using purpose of laptop?

if you want performance hd wise.

i believe the 160gb 7200 they use is slower than the wd 320gb 5400

Did some checking.
Pretty sure the 7200 is still going to be faster. But only by a fraction if they use the Seagate drive. Seagate pretty lame by the specs.

If you get the 200gb 7200 your almost guaranteed to get the Hitachi drive. Much better.

They use one of the two 160gb drives listed.

1. Do you mean if I buy the 200GB 7200 rpm, it is made by Hitachi? And it is much better than Seagate / WD?

How about the 160GB / 250GB 5400 rpm?

What is the brand of them?

Does the harddrive speed affecting playing games, programming (non-database programming), 3-D rendering, animation?

So, which one I should take? 160-5400, 250-5400 / 200-7200?

2. How about the screen resolution I asked in previous post?
Can you please give me information about my other questions?

Which LCD resolution is the best?

if you buy any hd with your system , unless you get an extended warranty its only good for 1 year so within the warranty of your system they are all good.

i dont notice any diffeence but then its mostly on paper

i have the 1680x1050 i like it nice and clear for me

Good info.
If you want a fast 7200 drive get the 320 with the dell order then get the Hitachi 200gb 7200 from best buy for $179.99. Then use the 320 in a enclosure as a external drive. After most backups it still has plenty of room for saving other crap.

if you want preformance .. yes
if you want long battery life .. no

you should choose the screen setting YOU like so if you don't have great eyes take a lower resolution.
