M1530/2407WFP Screen Comparison

Does anyone have both an M1530 w/ 1680x1020 LCD and a 2407WFP Widescreen LCD monitor that can tell me how close the contrast ratio on the M1530 is to the 2407?

Dell has a great deal on the M1530 with the Blue Ray burner upgrade today and I'm considering ordering it, but I'm always concerned about the contrast ratio on the notebook screen without first seeing it. I was never impressed with the contrast ratio on my XPS Gen 2 so I've been holding off buying a notebook until I can either see the screen myself or see some comparison shots of the screen next to the 2407.

Thanks!

Look, the technology on laptop LCD's is not quite up the that of desktop LCD's yet, especially some of the high end models such as the 2407. The contrast ratio will not be as good. You will not find any laptop, dell or otherwise, that will look that good. The LCD on the 1530 is as good as any other 15" widescreen... if you are after a laptop just go for it (plus... you can always hook up the laptop to your 2407 when you are at home/ work....)

Wow, I don't know why my question garnered such a response from you but oh well.

First off, there are obviously some changes happening with Notebook LCD's as there are at least a couple (HP HDX w/ 973:1 Contrast and Toshiba Qosimio F45-AV12 w/ 673:1 Contrast) where the contrast ratios are much better than the average laptop.

Since Dell doesn't post any contrast ratios for their LCDs (at least that I could find) I just wanted to see if anyone else here had run a luminance test or had a side by side comparison shot for the m1530.
