Replacement I9400/E1705 Battery-where to buy?

Hi all,

Just a quick question really. Bought my I9400 16months ago now and its time for a new battery. I refuse to pay the price on the dell website so your help is needed!

I currently have the 53wh 11.1 v D5318 battery installed - and i am perfectly happy to replace it with a new one of the same.

Can anyone tell me what to look out for (or who to buy from) on Ebay, or if not the urls of some reputable companies who sell batteries for cheaper than dell.

I hear things about refurbished dodgy batteries being sold on Ebay ruining laptops-dont want that to happen!

Oh, I will be dealing with UK ebay/UK companies please.

I just looked on Dell uk site and what a rip off! £184.95 ($370) for a 9 cell battery

I bought all of mine off Ebay,

I had one that was doa, but Careful screening of the feedback is key.
Along with a decent return policy.

I have bought two in the past couple of months, the first from an Amazon Marketplace seller who claimed that I was paying for the 9 cell 80 watt hour battery.

As it turned out, the battery was really a 53Wh 6 cell knock off piece of junk that would not fully charge. I promptly returned that one.

I ended up ordering the 80Wh 9 cell OEM from Parts People and it turned out to be an original Dell part, or a very good knock off. It charges fully and gives me 2 - 3 hours of full computing.

Watch out for the con artists out there, there seem to be quite a few in the replacement battery business.

Dell's definitely upped their price on the 9 cell battery recently. I noticed this when configuring a M6300.
