This here be a super cool IBM piece of junk.
The story: my family runs an automotive recycling yard. We got in some kind of service van that had an interior fire. Inside the van was an IBM laptop. It was in a case, which probably kept it from being completely incinerated. However, the flames licked a nice hole in one side of the carry case, so one edge of the laptop got melted a bit. After that, insurance companies take over and it sits in holding lots for 3-6 months before we get it. This is Washington (state) and we get plenty of rain. The day we found it, it was sitting under 3 inches of snow... dripping wet melty snow.
I propped it up and dried it out, figuring to put it on craigslist for a few bucks. My wife decided it would be fun to jump on it a few times... I stopped her at the last second, and decided it would be more fun to see if the thing still worked. The pictures speak for themselves. The hard drive and battery seem to be toasted, but the rest of it looks like it checks out. I have to say, I am 100% amazed with the durability of this computer. IBM, if you want to buy it from me to use in a commercial, that's fine with me. $200,000 please.
