I hastily installed a copy of Vista ultimate when I received my 2nd WD 250GB HD for Raid 0 and did not realize I needed to make the application and driver recovery DVD's myself.

Can these be downloaded? or does anyone know where I can get them from?

I know you can DL most the drivers from gateway but not all the app's and stuff it came with

Can anyone help me out?

Chat with Gateway Techincal Support about your P-6831FX Notebook, maybe they can help, they may have a link that my not be on the Gateway drivers web site that will allow you to download the recovery & driver application to make the recovery DVD's..........I know most people on here don't have much faith in Gateway Chat Tech support.....they are kinda hit or miss, but sometimes (not very offen) you'll get someone, that gives-a-dam, most tech support now-a-days are not very good, and mostly non-existant, but it's worth a try , and you might get lucky?

$20 to get a new OS DVD with drivers and applications was the answer I received from gateway support via email.

How hard would it be for them to just have it downloadable? I guess they must make lotsa coin on the sale of all these restore DVD's

I went to the gateway site and downloaded all the drivers myself.

Is the gateway recovery center on the 10 gig partition or was it on the vista partition?

I did make a backup via Acronis True Image 11 I already tried to restore the image buy i think ill have to delete the raid0 array and just try and restore it to a single drive.

However it might be all in vein, as I did not make an image of the restore partition, and i think thats where the recovery software was on.

Why don't you do this? get an OEM Vista DVD, (from someone) and use the product key on the bottom of your notebook, it doesn't matter what version of Vista it is, you see, it's all in the OEM product key what version get's installed..........that's if you want a Clean install, then, just download all of the drivers for it from Gateway..........I did this for my roomies new HP desktop, and used my Gateway OEM Vista DVD, and his product key, and GUESS WHAT? it worked............in the end he got a clean install of Vista, so he was forever greatful
