supposed to make the graphics smoother ? not sure, looking into it now. Only some games support it, and it's mostly for games.

How do you find the M1730 ?

I like it a lot. It actually a decent amount larger then the M1710 and I miss my docking port but I love the webcam, and most of all the light up keyboard.

The Physx 100M is a GPU that only handles physics on a game that runs Ageia Physx... GOW, UT3, and GRAW2 are good examples. A Physx card increases FPS and reduces "Physics Glitches".

i've had a system without it and now my current system with it. honestly i cant tell a difference in performance at all.

It don't increase FPS that much. But it gave me 29 more in 3dmark06!

really? wow i dont guess i ever paid attention to that when i didnt have it. of course, the system i had that didnt have the accelaerator was a POS so i was probably to focused on that! lol

It also drains a steady 7 watts an hour which is the equiv of all the extra LEDS on at once x2 Ive only ha to use it once and feel that it only contributes to eating more power in the system. As far as UT3 goes theres only 2 maps that actually use the card the game itself does not use the physics PPU.

Thanks for the input guys, so it doesn't look like it's worth having it on the machine then ?
Guess i'll save some $$ then.
Not worth it. From everything i've read, the ppu only supports a handful of games, and it doesn't do that much anyway. Save yourself the money.
For those of us that have it can we turn it off to save power?
i'm not sure if you can disable it so to speak. but i did accidently unistall it once. i guess thats an option.

I didnt even have it installed untill this thread haha I didnt know I had it. i am half tempted to take it out.....
