Dim Backlight

I posted this in another forum but I see much more activity in this thread. I have an older notebook and although the backlight works, it doesn't seem as bright as it should be. Should I replace the bulb or the inverter for a brighter screen?

You should have the following on your keyboard (it would help if you gave the model number):
An FN key
Usually, a symbol indicating brightness up on the up arrow, and the opposite on down arror

Hold the FN key, and press the up arrow several times until the screen will not get any brighter. That help? Note that on battery the screen automatically dims as a power saving feature.

Replacing the backlit isnt easy. You'd probably be better off just buying a new screen since they are so cheap.
