Currently own a Dell XPS m170 and I have been looking to upgrade since January of this year. It has now become crucnh time for me as I am getting ready to deploy to Iraq in June, and I would like to get a system to take with me. I was looking at the Dell XPS m1730 and the Alienware m15x, but it seems that both are overpriced compared to what sager has to offer, so I have decided to purchase my fisrt Sager after a long series of Dells from XoticPC. My dileema is trying to choose between the 9262 and the 5793. My upper limit is about $4000, and I was able to configure a very nice 9262 for right around there, but I was also able to configure a maxed out 5793 for right around $3200. I prefer the looks and size of the 5793 and I am slightly concerned with overheating and system reliability in the 9262, but it is hard to argue the performance gains of the 9262. I only play RTS on my computers as I reserve the FPS to my XBox, mainly titles such as, Ceasar IV, Imperium Romanum, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, the entire C&C series, Waqrcraft III, Suprememe Commander and StarCraft II when it comes out. Otherwise, I just use my systems for office work, movie viewing and internet. I don't know if I can justify the additional $800 for quad core and SLi when the dou core and single 8800 might suffice. Any comments, suggestions or help regarding these two systems is appreciated. Thanks all.

Well both of those notebooks will be arriving at my doorstep today. I can answer any questions you have for the two of them tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks! Any insight you have on either system would be fantastic. Basically I am just trying to figure out what the real performance benefits are of the 9262 over the 5793 (for my application) and if there are any reliability or durability issues associated with the 9262 (running desktop parts, two GPUs, etc.).

Both of those computers are overpowered for what you want to run on them. You could save yourself a lot of money by going to Bestbuy and getting a Gateway P-6831FX and still be future proofed for the games you want to play on it.

are there any certain benchmarks you want run on these to compare?
