Gateway p-6831-FX XP Drivers

well picked up this nice Gateway laptop, but not a big fan of Vista.

I have done some research, but stll have not been able to locate all the drivers for XP

The big one is the IDT/Sigmatel High Def 2 Channel Audio driver. Seems like ony Vista drivers for this one so far.

So anyone had any luck, or could help find a driver for XP will be great.

by the way, juat finished installing Xp with this guide and it works great.

just a note for the Audio, it seem to work better by doing the following

after installing the Audio driver froom gateway, then moving the teo modifed drivers into the XP directory I unistalled the audio device then manually installed the driver, worked fine.

Last the gateway Webcam software works in XP as well

just got my Gateway today and the XP guide seemed to work great. Anyone know if there's a way to get rid of the Bluetooth tray icon? I just uninstalled the whole thing since I don't use BT anyway.

hi i cannot get my sound to work in xp when i install the driver it say device not present tried unistalling windows xp and reinsatlling it 3 times still not working

You'd need the High Audio Definition patch of XP before the audio driver can be installed correctly (SP2 or SP3). Since Microsoft no longer makes this available on their site, search the net for some independent patch out there.
