Socket P Processor Upgrades - XPS m1530

Hi all,

I currently have (on order) an XPS M1530 with the 2.0 Ghz T7300 (socket P). I was wondering if, at some point down the road I want to, I could put a 2.5 Ghz T9300 in? Both are socket P, both use the 35W thermal envelope.

Also, it has a 5400 RPM HDD and I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade it to the 7200 RPM HDD?

Thanks guys,
B

I know you can upgrade the HD and pretty sure the CPU is a no brainer too.

the cpu upgrade on the xps 1530 and inspiron 1420 are very easy, they have access doors on the bottom of the laptops to get to them. no need to take apart the entire laptop to do the swap.

Wow. That's SUCH a cool feature! Thanks Bob

On past laptops, it was essentially the case that once the processor became outdated after 3 years, then it was time to buy a new one.

With the 1530, that means that my 2.2 Ghz can last until it starts to have trouble with apps, then I can slap in a 2.5 Ghz
