SONY Vaio VGN-FZ15G?

I am looking for a laptop for uni and stumbled across this one. SONY Vaio VGN-FZ15G.

I would like it for games as well, its priced at AUS$1599. is sony a brand worth buying? is this good value fo rmoney or should i look elsewhere?

Sony's notebooks are very reputable in terms of power, aesthetics and build, but they do not have a good reputation in terms of all the extra software (spyware if you will) that they preinstall on the their notebooks. I owned a Sony S-series and didn't see that problem however.

i own a sony fz series and it is discontinued. i loved it until the hard drive died and i got lots of bs from sony so they are now sending the busted laptop back to me and when i get it i am goin g to throw it out the window and i live on the 20th floor.
