SXGA Vs. UXGA (again)

Thread Starter
I decide to buy Sager 5660 from PCTorque this week or at least next week

What I am concerning about is UXGA vs SXGA. I heard that UXGA is too sparkling and too bright that some people prefer to use SXGA. Is it true?
And is it true that if we watch DVD with UXGA LCD the picture will be much better? Are there any picture or link comparing the UXGA with SXGA?

Adam, if I buy an UXGA notebook and I want to change it with SXGA, will I get my 60$ return?

The second is which one is better ( P4 2.4 with 5400 RPM HD ) or ( P4 2.53 with 4200 RPM HD ). If you were me what will you choose? My student budget is very very limited.

Thanks for your opinions....

Some advice

Nothing better than the UXGA.

You can dim the screen all you like - which is what we all do
You can use a variety of resolutions - I use 1024x768 most of the time
The UXGA has the best viewing angles in any laptop I have ever seen - and mine is the old UXGA - I can only imagine what the new UXGA looks like

Get the 2.4 with 512MB Ram - it is the best deal at the moment. CPU prices will drop soon and you can upgrade to the faster ones later by yourself.

Get the 40GB 5400rpm drive. This will give you good performance for the present and you'll have some money to upgrade to the 7200 rpm drives with larger volume when the time comes.

I dont know which warranty is better - one year or three years. I have 3 years but am now thinking one year would have been a better option because it lets me tinker with the laptop sooner without voiding the warranty...

Unless of course Sager will take the laptop in and do the upgrade for me I think they just might...

Go with the 5400 hard drive. As it has been previously mentioned, hd speed is the current laptop bottle neck. If you plan on upgrading your hard drive when the 7200's come out go with 40 gb. If not, 60 gb at 5400 is the best for performance right now.
